University of Fredericton participates in The Conference Board of Canada's Quality Network for Universities site visit to Germany
The President and Provost of the University of Fredericton, along with thirteen other Canadian university senior administration delegates, recently participated in a site visit to Germany as members of the Conference Board of Canada’s – Quality Network for Universities. The objective of the visit was to provide Canadian university leaders with an overview of the German higher education system, with a specific emphasis on the exchange of insights between Canadian and German post-secondary leaders.
As a fully-online university, the University of Fredericton brings a unique perspective to post-secondary discussions within Canada and abroad. The opportunity to exchange perspectives and maintain a dialogue with key national and international higher education stakeholders is important as the University continues to provide world-class education in an ever-evolving global society.
In attendance was University of Fredericton Provost Dr. Kenneth Green, as well as University of Fredericton President Mr. Don Roy. Discussions between the universities were broad, covering topics ranging from basic and applied research to educational philosophies and student experience. Dr. Green described the experience as such:
“In sum, the German site visit offered an excellent overview of the similarities and differences between German and Canadian institutional and educational value systems, both equally justified and rational; and an excellent opportunity for important interaction with the other attending Canadian university delegates. Both President Roy and myself assessed this group site visit as a significant knowledge and institutional relationship building experience.”
