Representatives of the University of Fredericton (UFred) are pleased to attend the XXI World Congress on Safety and Health at Work, being held at the Sands Expo and Convention Centre September 3, to 6, 2017.
The conference is held once every three years, each time in a different city. It serves as a platform for the exchange of information, innovation, and ideas by experts in occupational health and safety, decision makers in government, leaders in business, industry representatives, workers, and those active in the field of Occupational Health and Safety (OHS).
Over the past decade, UFred has undertaken to become a leader in Canadian OHS education. Currently, UFred is enhancing its programs to apply to international frameworks of safety education, allowing the University to expand its reach to a global network of students. At the World Congress, the University will be working with various organizations and partners to continue to move the development of this initiative forward.
The online Occupational Health and Safety Programs at the University of Fredericton have been gaining steady recognition across Canada over the past 10-years. UFred aspires to be the leading global educator in OHS, with content and online delivery methods that have resulted in programs that have direct applicability to students working in industry.
With its motto “A Global Vision of Prevention,” this conference represents a significant step for UFred in advancing toward a global standard for health and safety.
