Meet Eric Bender
My name is Eric Bender; A Swiss Canadian, originally from Montreal, Quebec, but currently residing in Mississauga, Ontario. I am a Value Added Reseller (VAR) Partner Manager at Rogers Communications involved in bringing new programs (such as Mobile Broadband) to the different B2B channels. It is a great experience for me to learn and grow within one of Canada's best communications companies. Previously, I worked at Nortel for about 9 years in a variety of positions (Order Management, eBusiness and Sales & Operations). My last role was as a Sales & Operations Manager supporting Nortel's Distribution Channels. That role involved working closely with a variety of different groups, both internal and external, to ensure that the channels have whatever it is they need to function smoothly.
I have recently completed a certificate in Marketing Management at Ryerson University and a yearlong Leadership Development program (LEDP) at Nortel. Prior to those achievements, I completed my BA at McGill University in English Literature, with minors in Psychology and Marketing. I am also an active member of Toastmasters International.
Selecting the University of Fredericton for my EMBA was an easy choice. The online classes were a perfect fit for my intense life schedule of juggling a new job and a newborn at the time. The material was current, relevant and thought provoking and the staff made me feel like a part of a team, helping me learn new things every step of the way. Since receiving my EMBA at University of Fredericton, I am more confident in my day to day activities and my career at Rogers Communications has benefited as a result.
